It was real police, I live 2 miles from the school and we have a local PD. The township the school is in doesn't so it was State police. Comedy hat and all. DST, I am British, only moved here in 2001, all my family is still in the Manchester area, well Cheshire actually, as I'm closet posh. :)...

I don't think it was an ounce in google image searching. Cop said it was 1 of something, and in looking online it wasn't close to 1 oz.

That's my nightmare, I am hoping that he's a kid so it will go away when he's an adult. This is not what I was hoping for at all.

Hoping so Sunni. Therapy is ongoing, but he has the f-it's. His mom died, and his dad was none existent, so he was on his own for a bit (emotionally). Then it took longer for him to believe I was there for him. He now believes that, if something good came of the cops being there interviewing...

Husband and I totally differ on that issue. I'd buy it, as I'd be safer and have him smoke at home. Hubby doesn't agree on any level with that line of thinking. I think probably the reasonable point is somewhere inbetween us both. But to me, I don't want my kid making dumb decisions - and there...

As we were foster parents, my kids didn't grow up with all the other kids, my kids stayed in the 16-17 range for a decade as foster kids came and went. So I don't know the other parents to talk to them. And as my kid admitted to it, I don't really know how to call them and be like hey, my kid...

He's been in therapy for a long time. His life was crap. His foster care was only us, and I love him to death, so he didn't have a horrible foster experience. I quit to give him a normal life without a house fill of crazy kids. My hubby is also totally anti drug and we found out he was smoking...

Is that a scary amount? It didn't look like much to me, but I don't know much. He only ever has $20 on him max, but I suppose he could have taken money from friends.

This forum is tricky, as I didn't see your post initially. I'd like to know what he wrote in the note to the school as well. And I don't think that they could really ask him to do that, without me there. Or they can't hand it over to the police. But I don't know. I am going to see if I can get...

I'm worried that he will continue to smoke. And they will pee test him.

It looked like this, but broken up, so not coming up as high in the baggie. http://www.blogginghigh.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/weed_fullschmiddy.jpeg

That's my fear. He's young, he's going to mess up. Also we just adopted him out of a very restricted foster care program, so the odds are that he would mess up more than your average teen. He's 17 and only got a cell phone when we adopted him last December. I am expecting him to make some...

Based on it being 1" to 1.5" at the bottom of a gallon sized zip lock bag - and was broken up and spread out, how much would you say that was? Also it was brown, so in my uneducated opinion, it looked like it was crap - not that this likely matters to the police.

Why Sunny? I want to make the best decision I can for him. My line of thought was that he's only a minor for a few more weeks, so it would go away. Woody, I'll be damned if he's spending any time in county. That's just not happening.

Hellmutt, I don't know. You are right, that's why I came here asking the question. Thought I'd come to a place where people would know, and be willing to share some advice. I was 15 when I experimented and I hated weed. Made my mind go into overdrive and paranoid rather than relaxed as it made...

So next question - if the choice is $500 fine, and a misdemeanor - or community service and probation.... assuming it goes from the date of the offense, and not the date of the charges - then I'd rather go for the fine and misdemeanor, just in case he messes up again while on probation. Is that...

I am totally not very educated at all, maybe it was a gram not an ounce. It was loose in a baggie. I just rolled up a gallon zip lock kitchen bag. It was about 1/8th of that, as in, I can roll it up about 8 times over the amount it was. About 1"-1.5" in the bottom of a gallon sized bag.

Hello, I am wondering if any of you might be able to give me some advise. My specific question is that my son is 17, his charges have not come from the police yet, and he's about to be 18 in a couple of weeks. But it would be from the date of the crime, not the date of the charges right...
