After Spraying Alcohol/Water for Spider Mites.....

just now trying 60 pc moonshine on my seedcrop. under microscope its stopping the mites but are they dead or drunk? will find out in the morning. lights are on so alcohol should evaporate before it can adsorb into leaves. trichomes seem unaffected. they do have a good shell. i used about 5 grams...

drspastic has been my internet handle since the internet began due to my postgraduate useless paper and i was in a wheelchair at the time. i do run a real company doing other stuff but i am keeping the lights as a hobby job and dont want to associate the two. blurple is my preferred thing for...

cheers for the feedback, i will try and edit the text a bit and get better photos up. also had suggestions of putting diagrams of how to rig the cooling system as it seems to confuse a lot of people.

IC Driven COB LEDs Experiences? Advise?

nice build, those klixon cutouts are essential and very cheap. i use 75c because thats what i had a box full of. 50c is better. when that pump stops the temperature increases very fast. the cobs driver circuit does moderate thermal runaway with negative feedback but its not always enough as i...

IC Driven COB LEDs Experiences? Advise?

only measurements currently held are spectrum, but that holds no surprise. all as expected. par is spot on, warm and cool white are without much in the way of spurious peaks or troughs. reds do hit a good few nm above and below 670 to 630. i don't have a good light meter atm and they cost big...

IC Driven COB LEDs Experiences? Advise?

all exposed potential are siliconed. no earth on the system as we don't have a proper earth where i live, its all split from 3 phase and a bloody mess on the overhead poles. fortunately I am a MSc in electronic engineering and have been used to working live on 100kv+ systems. to be fair, you...

IC Driven COB LEDs Experiences? Advise?

hi, just picked up on this thread. i haven't been here for a while. heres some photos of my latest water cooled bars. im using 220v cobs glued to ali extrusion with internal pipework to even the temperature. currently running as my central heating boiler. i have a few kw of these running in pink...

im thinking 50v distrubution lines to keep copper down. 50 is pretty safe but still easy coping with a few hundred watts. maybe 80v?

PLEASE JOIN ME! Open source growlight project

Here's a flowchart that selects your timing and spectrums and also flood pump and check if table flooded. I'm having problems compiling to pic so far. im old. the hardware is much better developed. there are internal heatsinks and ducts you cant see. more photos to come. these are just stages of...

PLEASE JOIN ME! Open source growlight project

Are they easy to program without a lot of special gear? I'm way behind the times. There's an arduino nano on my laser cutter. Are they cheaper than raspi or olinuxino? Could then just write a Linux script. And have WiFi. And after this weeks catastrophe caused by a pebble bit stuck in a pump...

tit ladyboy? or other ways to seed auto fems please

just had a catastrophy. bit of pebble floated round the pipes and jammed the pump. everything burned to a crisp....actual crisp. so another £50 on seeds..... leads me now to think there is more cash to be had growing seed than growing weed. whats rollitup users opinions on the best product to...

    Let's make a LUX Meter! (BH1750 + Arduino + LabView2013 = ERECTION!)

Series parallel in this case is (two banks of (5 in parallel) in series) hence all driven by the 2 wires in the centre. Capacitance and driver matters little. Any series arrangement should have all series elements flash together (if at all assuming no other instability)

    Let's make a LUX Meter! (BH1750 + Arduino + LabView2013 = ERECTION!)

leds really do some odd stuff. i have had them oscillating at less than 0.2 hz and going in and out of conductivity while in series. great idea about photosensitivity binning. i will set up a stable bench light source and test jig. check this out:
