DB's organic gardens and DIY projects thread.

So after a brief hiatus from growing, my affinity for weed and the extortionate prices being charged for it, have forced me to get it on again, although on a smaller scale than previously. Those of you who are familiar with me will already know that I like experimenting and making my own shit...

Wooly Aphids.............and how much neem oil/Dr Bronners can an apple tree take?

This is both a question to anybody with direct experience on the subject and an experiment. Here's the espaliered tree in question, it's of a good age and in need of a severe pruning. It's absolutely loaded with immature fruits, but it's equally loaded with Wooly Aphids. ...

    Trinodal SSDD males

I've run a pack of Bodhi's SSDD and wanted to F2/Bx them, but the 3 males I've ended up with all have 3 branches at each internode. Is this a good/bad thing? Has anyone experienced this with SSDD or any other strain? Would you still use the collected pollen to make some F2's?

Just been testing my DIY build to make sure it works.........and thought I'd see what wattage it was drawing on max. Anyway, the HLG-320H-C1050 is running at 310W max, with 8 x CXB3070's on it. When I flicked through modes on the killawatt meter, it showed my mains voltage averaging around...

My aim is to do away with my 3 HID's currently in my 8x4 tent. Each light will consist of 2 x 1m long passive heat sinks connected with aluminium angle and...

    Incorporating comfrey into my mulch

Simple question......how are people topdressing/mulching with comfrey? It's pretty nasty stuff if it decomposes in damp conditions, so, do you dry it out first then cut up before topdressing? My current mulch is EWC, then compost, then composted bark..........should I pull the bark back and...

So as the title suggests, I wanna cover 8x4 with 1000w(ish) of cobs, giving as much output as possible for as little money as I can get away with spending, although I will not be compromising with cheap components, this is more about finding the best configuration for the area, for the right...
