Looking for greener pastures: Best market for a small scale grower: Canada, USA, European markets?

I'm in Colorado and have been growing for 15 years. It used to be good and you could make a living but once it went legal the big commercial grows pretty much took over. I cant even move the stuff anymore and its much better than the commercial chemical stuff that most dispensaries sell. I agree...

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

Ended up doing some trial and error with the parts I have. It was just that one LED that had over heated and stopped the rest of the line from lighting. The other problem for the second light set up was the driver being faulty and wouldnt send enough power down the line of cobs. All sorted...

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

I will do some reading as I dont know much about multimeters. Making these lights is the easy part :) I figured out why one of the lights stopped. The first LED had fried, the screen (yellow) of it looked like shattered glass effect and I noticed the heatsink thermal paste had dried up and the...

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

Thought I would come back to this thread with the latest. I eventually bought a new driver, same as I was using but I still dont get any light. I have made four of these cob lights now and of the four after one year of use two have stopped working. Replaced the drivers but still no light so...

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

With two or more COBs there is no life at all, one COB produces the flickering. Model is the Meanwell HLG 185 C1400B I can wire it all back up in the morning and test under load.

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

Thanks for that pic and easy explanation. I did a few tests on different settings. at 200Vdc its showing 38 and on ACV 200 setting its showing between 81 and 82 But thats plugged into the wall and no cobs connected to it, just checking the readings from the wires that would connect to the cobs...

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

I have one but honestly dont know how to use it other than testing if a wire is a positive or negative. I'm still learning the electronics side of things. :) What settings do I put the voltmeter on? Thats what I'm thinking too. Oh well, its lasted 18 months and plenty of quality nugs in that time

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

The driver has been unplugged since it possibly went bad. I put up a different cob set up I had built for veg room. Went to use the driver on another set up I am in the process of building and its then that I found the leds would not turn on and only when powering a single cob would it show life...

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

The driver has been running for about 18 months then suddenly the lights didnt turn on anymore. Testing it on a single cob resulted in it flickering but once I added a second cob none would light up. At first I thought wiring but now I'm thinking its the driver so just wanted to get some...

    LED flicker, possible driver issue?

Hi all, Havent posted here for a while since making my last round of LED lights. Everything has been going great but a month ago one set of led lights went out. I messed around and eventually used a second meanwell driver and it s all working again but it could have been a loose wire too as I...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

If you dont attach a pot to a B model meanwell driver does it mean the driver is running at 100% to all LEDs? I just put everything together and figure I can connect the pot later, just want to get this thing hung up :)

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Found out the problems with the Arctic 11 Plus cooler fan...It was the Power Supply unit causing the issues, the wires were not colored correctly. Lesson learnt to check wires and NOT presume the wires are correctly labelled :)

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

My 4 wire fan is blue, yellow, red and black. Would that be different than the 4 wire you linked to? The fan/cooler says for intel chips but is showing the AMD colours. I'm still a little confused now, do I go by the color chart of intel or amd? As I don know what I'm doing as far as which...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Thanks Alesh. I have seen a few posts now and several are different on the wiring process. This quote from another on the forum was what threw me and I had no idea what wires do what, "It sounds counter intuitive but I believe you want to run the black wire from the power block to the red wire...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I'm having trouble with the fans and getting them powered if anyone can help. I have the arctic 11 plus with the 4 wires coming out of them. Black, Red, Yellow and Blue. I will be powering 4 of them off a 12v 1amp switching adapter which has two black wires, one with a white stripe (positive...
