    Is this true?

" dont even worry about npks when making your own soil and growing organically. npk ratios are something the hydro industry made up and all the hydro people bug out on."

    Considering Super Soil

How long do you cook it for and what are the ratios (NPK)? Do you go straight from the peat/perlite/worm castings mix to your supersoil? I want to try both subcools and yours to see which gives me better results.

    CFL vs HID

When first sprouting seeds under 24hr light which would be better? A 400w MH bulb a few feet away or cfls up close?

    Considering Super Soil

No, Problem. I was curious myself. Having never worked with soil/supersoil just ready made nutes I forget about the ratios. I like how Spicys recipe is mild enough to be used stand alone when the plants are ready...

    Considering Super Soil

Close call.. I was putting together an order for some of the super soil ingredients and then it hit me "RATIOS" I had completely forgot about them. I had to search for a recipe that included them since the high times article does not list them. Needless to say some were way off. Do they need...

    Super Soil Newb

When you mix everything up it should be enough to fill 10 10-gal pots half way but, I would still get the other 4 bags of the base soil since you are going to layer or mix it into the super soil.

    Considering Super Soil

I will be using Roots organic so, I guess I will go with the peat/perlite/worm castings mix to be safe. To have it all laid out it would be: -Sprout seeds in napkins. -Place into party cups with peat/perlite/worm castings mix -At 4-5 nodes transfer to 1 gallon with the base soil (roots...

Thanks. I was wondering what would be better. After seeds sprout would it be better to put them in the base soil I will be using in the super soil or Peat, perlite, worm casting? If this. at what ratios 1:1:.5?

    Smart Pots

What do you just place a under your smart pots to catch run off? I am thinking of trying them out but, I grow indoors.

    Considering Super Soil

Have another question. With super soil do you water until 10-15% run off or try and keep it contained? I usually grow in coco + nutes and know that you need the runoff partly to keep the salts from building up. I am thinking about using smart pots and since they are fabric am trying to...

Kind of what I had thought. To others. A side from being locked into the veg length, is this a good option?

What kind of veg length would you use to get the most out of that size pot? My room space is about 6x5 feet.

Thanks for the reply. I will most likely use subcools recipe: 8 large bags of a high-quality organic potting soil with coco fiber and mycorrhizae (i.e., your base soil) 25 to 50 lbs of organic worm castings 5 lbs steamed bone meal 5 lbs Bloom bat guano 5 lbs blood meal 3 lbs rock phosphate ¾...

    Considering Super Soil

Hey all, this will be my first non-auto grow and need some help. I will be starting from seed, and want to make sure I plan it out correctly. 1) Sprout seeds in napkin. 2) Place sprouts in party cups and place in darkness until they reach surface. 3) When they reach surface place seeds under...

    Perpetual Growing

-So, just like the flower room you have to have multiple generations in the veg room that add up to your desired vegging time. If you want 6 week veg you have to keep 3 generations on 2 week intervals all the time. - Is your flower time going to be locked into your veg time length? Meaning you...

    Perpetual Growing

    1) Do you really need mothers? Could you not take clones from the veg room or would having 1-2 week veg times make it hard to take clones? 2) Still a bit confused with the vegging scheduling. Is this right? -using soil: Take clones put into cloner for 7 days then move to veg room for 2 weeks...

    Perpetual Growing

What about vegging time would that not effect how often you can add to the flower room or are you placing clones directly into flower? If you veg for 4 weeks how can you add to the flower room every 2 weeks?

    First Grow non-auto

Other than that everything else is good? Is growing to 5-6 nodes in the "party cup" ok?

Thanks for the responses. A few more questions. 1) Would you also have to have "Rows" in the veg room if you want something like a 4 week veg time? Otherwise, your flowering will always be multiples of 4. So, 2 rows 4 week harvest would be 8 week flower and 3 rows would be 12 weeks flower. 2)...
