    I think it's 1 part genetics and other parts temperature & stress that cause plants to turn male. Just baby them and they'll treat you right.

    If you're asking out of fear of being discovered due to energy consumption you have nothing to fear with an Op. that size. As far as knowing for budget reasons I'd say toss an extra seed in the ground and you'll be fine.

    I cut some of the lower leafs of as an experiment and the yeild on that plant was maybe ten to fifteen percent less the others of the same strain :s
