I'm planning on building a grow box, i'm getting a 400w HPS grow bulb. How big of an area will it light up sufficient enough to grow the plants? I'm going to have vents going in and out, as well as a separate fan for just the bulb. The inside of the box will be lined with that emergency blanket...

anyone know a general distance that they've had success for with a 400w HPS bulb. i was thinking around 15-20 inches? is that too far? too close? the ballast is for a 400w HPS/MH bulb so i'll be using both bulbs. are the distances the same for MH bulbs?

I have a small 70w HPS bulb that will turn off for no apparent reason. The light will stay off for about 30 seconds to a minute and will then pop back on. Is it a wiring problem? heat? whats causing the bulb to turn off? any advice would be greatly appreciated since i don't know a single thing...

How far should i set my lights away from my plants? right now they're about 4 inches off the tops of my plants, i have 4 plants... I'm running 4 bulbs, 2 white light and 2 yellow light. Should I move the lights down to about 2 inches or is that too close? how close is too close?
