Unless you live on the equator you can't finish one of those real long flowering strains. My friend in Thailand grows a pheno that takes 5 months (20 weeks) to finish. Some equatorial sativas do not respond to a photoperiod since they always receive 12/12 light due to latitude.

A lot of growers push nutes till they see what you're seeing and then back off a bit. Just ease up, I'd say.

Not sure what kind of fert you're using but you can just water though the sand.

Cover your medium with a few inches of play sand. The larvae won't be able to get through it to mature and reproduce. End of gnats!
