Cab Build: How to vent with clone room on top?

Let me clarify: I have a cooltube that will run indepentendtly, the fan is dedicated to just the cooltube. I will ALSo have a fan for exhauts that will pull through a carbo air scrubber (the scrubber located in the flower cahmber) this fan will either vent straight to the outside of the cab...

Cab Build: How to vent with clone room on top?

I am 90% finished with my new grow cab build. It's 4 feet tall, the bottom three feet will be for gorwing and flowering and the top 12 inches I'll use for wire storage and in the future will use it to establish cuttings in order to sog. I will use an HPs in cool tube for the main area, and...

got a question that ive never heard an answer to

The Flowering cycle is triggered by hormones that are produced in the plant when it's light cycle is shortened to at 12 hours a day or less. Once this has occured, the plant will do everything in it's power to put out seed before the approaching winter (diminishing daylight cycle indicates cold...

    DIY Cab, 70% complete

Looks great. I am about 80% finished building a 4 foot tall by 2.5x1.5 cab. It'll be my third, and the upper 12.5 inches is for wire storage and a possible clone starting space for later. Look, anyine that says you need 7' vert. clearance and 1000w HPS is just lacking in understanding. The...

    Help me plan my closet

What's the problem? I've tried both CFl and HPs. I still use CFL for starting seedlings but for prime results it takes a LOT of CFL light. Every usable lumen of light a CFL produces carries more heat than with an HPS. This is fact.

    Help me plan my closet

Wrong. In order to get enough luminoscity from a straight CFL grow, heat WILL be an issue. Plus with CFL's spread throughout the room or cabinet it's more difficult to control the heat. the entire cabinet needs to be exhausted efficiently enough to keep it cool, and so you are talking lots of...

How much soil to perlite mix? (PIX)

the NPK values are only listed for what is available to the plant immediately. The issue with most Miracle Grow products I'm aware of is they contain high amounts of slow release fertilizers. These will becaome available at different times in different amounts, and it's impossible to list...

Will I increase my yeild if I add cfls to my hid grow?

Ya but there a lot of veterans out there that swear MH for flowering produces tighter, denser nugs. Lots of folks use both MH and HPS for flower.

I could use some help with my cab! (9 PIX)

I've got a very similar set up, here are the problems with yours: All your heat from the cool tube is being blown into the closet, so the fan is just blowing heated air over a heat source. Make sense? You need to continually exhaust the closet where your grow box lives. This brought my...

Why are my buds airy and light

Nah, I've seen handfuls of 400 watt grows with 6 to 8 plants, sog'd or LST'd. I've seen 4 nice plants from 250's!

Surrounding with CFLs, but how much wattage for veg? flower?

flowering is the stage where light energy is used in the highest quantity, so it's better to have more during flowering then veg if that's what you are wondering. And you want a warmer, i.e. re and orange spectrum, light for flowering. the 25 or 2700k CFL's are the best, though you should use...

Surrounding with CFLs, but how much wattage for veg? flower?

I have experienced, as others will attest to, that CFL's produce more heat that is more difficult to deal with. A cooltube and HPS ended up being my solution. Ton's of luminosity, temps peak at 82, and I can use supplimental CFL's as side lighting! A small PC fan exhausts heat out of the box...

    help needed, trichomes pics

Fuck the microwave. Take a small sample and put is somewhere with lots of ventilation and a fan blowing around it. It'll be so small you can smoke it in a day or two! Be more cautious with the rest of course. Looks great!

    Last Week Lighting ?

It also works to mimic nature, as toward the end of the season days get shorter and the light a plant recieves gets less intense.

Ready fo the jar yet? (pics)

Thanks! No one has asked about lighting, which kind of surprises me, but I thought it worth mentioning that I vegged under CFL's and flowered with 150w HPS in a cooltube. I added CFL's around the sides to add some cooler daylight and add lumens. The next one will be even better, fewer...
