Got some plants growing outside that already show sex

I was wondering how could that have happened? My roommate just thru some bagseed out the window. Now we got a bunch of small plants growing that are about 3 weeks old or so. The biggest one definitely has white pistils on it, not stipules. Just wondering if someone else has seen this happen...

    Rusty brown spots on plants

My plants are a few weeks old. I started them out in rockwool then put them in a DWC setupt for another week or so. In the DWC they started to get root rot / brown slime on the roots. Also, some rusty brown spots started to show up on the older leaves. Last weekend I took the net cups out of...

    Brown slime on roots

ah shit, is that too much H202? I did some research and a couple people said use 30mL per gallon for the standard 3% solution. (the stuff you buy at walmart in the health aisle) And even then add that amount every 3 days or so. i think you said 7mL/gal at 30% solution? it seems like 30mL at...

    Brown slime on roots

I went ahead and drained the rez and cleaned it really well with water and H202. It had a bunch of brown debris and brown slime stuff in the bottom and it smelled bad. I fillled it up with RO water, nutes, and 30ml/gal of 3% H202 solution. Oh, also I got a chiller of sorts now, so my rez...

Here's a good reason not to use tap water

Wow this got more posts than I thought it would get! I did calibrate my TDS meter against a known calibration solution before testing the tap water. RO and distilled water always come up accurately. The TDS measurements of my rez are very similar to the feeding charts PPM prediction. It could...

    Brown slime on roots

only a couple weeks old.....the roots have been in the water for only a few days. The roots themselves are healthy and white, they just have some brown gunk collecting on them. My setup is a homemade bubbleponics system with 2 airstones in a 10 gallon rubbermaid container.

    Brown slime on roots

I checked my roots today and there was this brown slimey substance on them. I took a toothpick and scraped some of it off. It looked like it had some gnat larvae or something inside it. Anybody know what this shit is and how do i get rid of it? Is it ok to scrape it off a root or will that...

where to find a cheap moisture meter?

i got a decent one at a local nursery/garden supply store for $20. The big problem I was having was that my soil had a different moisture reading at different places around the pot. I also used my finger a lot, and lifted the pots to see how heavy they were.

    Does sitting water work

would it be ok to just manually water each net pot from above with the rez water once a day or so, until the roots can reach the water?

Here's a good reason not to use tap water

Just got a TDS meter the other day.... After calibration, my tap water comes to about 1000 PPM. Thats a huge amount compared to distlled at around 3 PPM and RO at around 30 PPM. I'm glad I stopped using my tap water!!

Two week old plants need help!

thanks. My plants are 2 and a half weeks old now. I did some research and my guess is that it is a nitrogen deficiency caused by incorrect pH and N leach from the soil because I have to water a lot. (excellent drainage, hot, windy, and small containers) I got some miracle grow liquid...

Two week old plants need help!

I have four plants that are 2 weeks old that I started from seed in peat pellets. Sorry I don't have a camera or I would post a pic. They are still growing good, with plenty of new growth. The problem is the older leaves are all getting paler green, some yellowing, and some with light brown...
