I get it in a general range, anything between 5.6 and 6.0 is fine for me and never seen any deficiences (except cal). I've read journals of lads who grew in coco without ever checking PH and they seem to do ok. It's such a versatile medium I think it just takes whatever is thrown at it.

Thinking about going back to coco, the ease of watering every day or two beats checking on the dwc. Plus it would provide more headroom, something which I am very short on :P
