it wont grow back? its fully dead??

So i germinated my seed and a huge stem came out of the seed, i put it in the soil and watered it and put light on it. when i woke up i noticed the light was messed up over night and the stem was facing down and looked a little dry. - Wut should i do? heres a picture of it.....

yehh, I was shoving around the soil to look for it and it took a while till I did. I think i broke it off when i looked for it. What do u think?

So basically I germinated it and the root came out. I put it in the pot the wrong way and noticed that I made that mistake a day later. I checked up on the seed and the root was growing but I put it in the wrong direction. Five minutes ago I just took the seed out to put it in the right way and...
