In general I would agree but when I have expensive seeds from Amsterdam every seed counts and some of them just don't make it out of the seed case. The leaves cannot force their way out. I was wondering if there is some safe way to score or weaken the tough seed case before germinating.

Poor little plants can't get out of the seed shell. They try and get stuck even though I soak them and leave them in damp paper towels. What to do? What to do? :sad:

That will probably work but I understand that 'water roots' are weaker and the plant has to grow new roots once you put it in soil.
