Best way to sterilize coco coir?

I never grew in coco and a rockwool cube may be your answer, but from my experience rockwool cubes can be oversaturated with water as well so you kind of have to get the saturation part down. I go with the rapid rooters because they dry a bit more evenly and hardly if ever become over saturated...

Strange Sympoms with ideal conditions - any ideas?

I would put the water temp at 68 degrees and get the PH to 5.8. That would create the most dissolved oxygen in water while putting your PH at optimal levels for nutrient uptake for hydro. Increase your C02 to 1200-1500ppm lights on. All this will be for nothing if you cant raise your room temps...

Strange Sympoms with ideal conditions - any ideas?

I think your set up will have several counterproductive issues as many have already stated. While using the LED's you want your rooms ambient temps to be between 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit. While running CO2 you could definitely get away with 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Unfortunately, it looks like...

    Look at this cheap light

Never had an 8ft T5. Just 4ft with either 1 bulb (starter4x), 4 bulb(1x) or 8 bulb(3x). All of which are collecting dust in my basement. I could not imagine trying to handle a 8ft long fixture haha

Just a little poll, about compost teas. Do you use them as an organic grower?

Are you brewing a tea and applying it directly? Try brewing your tea and adding one or two cups to a watering container. Tea can be hot like things in compost can be hot. You dont have to use all the tea at once. I use 4 cups out of a one gallon batch and put the rest in the next batch of soil I...

Just a little poll, about compost teas. Do you use them as an organic grower?

After watching the huge amounts of insects break down my compost, I'm certain their dead bodies are something my plants love. My bins(tumblers) sit above ground level so its mostly flying insects for me but some ants and potato bugs and other ground dwellers make it in there too. No worms...
