So...does anyone have personal experience with putting sand on top of your soil to prevent thrips or gnats from reproducing? Just want to make sure before I throw sand on my grow. Thank you!

I think it's called a Stink Bug, though I am not certain. I found quite a few throughout my last grow, and they didn't eat anything or mess anything up to my knowledge. Anyone know if it's good/bad/neutral for my plants? Thank you.

Now, I know it lowers the chlorine levels and takes out any bacteria and a lot of minerals that are in excess, but does it make the Ph levels go up or down? I don't have a meter, or else I would try on my own. Thank you.
