what distance should you keep a 150W HPS from the top of the plant?

i have the same setup practically same lamp too 150W hps... whats the distance you should keep the lamp from the plant? my plants already getting big... its a foot now... i just want to make sure the canopy is not getting too hot... but dont wnat to waste light...

i usually just sorta eye ball it and move it sometimes but what is a good distance to keep the growing shoots from a 150W lamp? i know hte hand testing if its ok to hold ur hand its ok... or watever... but what is a precise measurement distance that is good?

what if the leaves are curling/cupping but arent being damaged? sometimes they curl and sometimes they go back to normal... no yellowing or darkening? also im gona finally cut tomorrow when i get to the sixth node! but ya the leaves arent getting damaged they are just curlying a bit on the very...

yes i agree... but lets say ur figures are right... it would still be better just to grow another plant and double your yield... im taking a 400 level bio class on plant growth and there are a lot of things out there that although may be true it isnt as effective as people think... fans do help...

night or morning cutting time is best?

dude dont worry about that shit... the plant will grow regardless of optimum and ideal maximum rate that some people are so keen on achieving... just let nature do its thing... if u really want to increase CO2 have all ur friends over to ur place and have em watch tv and smoke some weed... ull...

cut at night or in the morning? which is better? im guessing night so the open cut does not suck moisture out of the plant?

Do i really HAVE to wait until the 5th and 6th nodes are grown out to cut it? cant i just cut it now when tis on the 4th node? i dont want it to waste energy.... or does it need the time to build up starch storage or something? also is it better to clip the top off at night or in the morning...

why the second true node? i am thinking about doing it at the third? is that ok? wats the rationale? because it will support the weight the lignin later will make the stem pretty sturdy at the bottom...
