CFL are great, love them. Especially if you get the reflectors to go with them. The bulbs are pretty cheap too. I'd rather use HPS if I had to pick, but money wise cfl are way better choice.

Looks like heat burn. Is it only on the top of plant or is it spread everywhere? If it's just top it's more than likely bulbs too hot.

yeah, 1 time a week sometimes twice. The rest of the time just plain PH'd water, but not everyday.

Cold water won't hurt the plants at all. The PH was probably the culprit. 61 is a bit cold but not too bad, just lower the light a little and it'll jump up a few degrees. You're gonna have some monsters with that setup. Just give it a couple more months of veg. oowee
