If one is to believe the cannatrol way of using dew point at 55° and 75%RH you are at 47.2° dew point. So you are close to the dew point of the old 60/60 method which is 46.1°. I had to hang dry most of my last crop cause it doesn't all fit in my box. I had my humidifier turn off and on by...

Just the first clear picture I found. I look at multiple places around the plant.

Take that loupe and tape it to your phone's camera lens. If it'll focus you'll be able to take better shots of the trichomes and zoom. Or if you're like me and have a hard time staying still take video then you can pause it on the in focus parts. Here's a screenshot to give you an idea what...

Mix some water and baking soda and scrub the inside and then rinse. If that doesn't do it then you can always try an ozone generator. It's what I use to get smells out of stuff. This last tote I bought must of come straight off the boat as it reeked of idk what. Of course be careful with ozone...

Oh I wholeheartedly agree the 4 day is too fast for perfection. Only reason I am trying it is to see how it compares to how I normally dry. Plus with this being a test run I wanted to make sure I could complete the run before I have to go back to work just in case something was to go wrong...

I didn't say it smelled like hay. I said at this point I am a bit worried it may turn that way. If so it will be from drying too fast. So that in no way would be a knock on the kooltron or peltier type machine drying. Heck being able to dry too fast in a small controlled environment that does...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

That is the plan just waiting to see if it actually works first. This thread is what inspired me to build it in the first place. Figure if it works great I'll make a thread. If not then people that read this thread and dream of building their own from scratch can learn from my mistakes.

My box does run like a cannatrol though. I custom built it and coded a controller. I control water vapor pressure which is just a finer measurement of dew point. So I figured first run I'll stick close to the cannatrol timeline and dew points and see how it goes. I would drag the dry out...

Gotta say drying like the cannatrol is definitely different. Only 1-2 days left of the dry cycle and the sugar leaves are still soft. Don't really feel what I would call wet but not the normal crispy feeling either. Also the loss of smell is just like they say. Not totally gone but much...

I did pick the 3 I found off. I let it go another 2 days and this morning said F it you're the guinea pig.

Welp real flower testing has come early. My peanut butter breath decided she had her fill of the stress of life and threw a cpl tiny little nanners. First time running it, probably the last unless it's amazing. Thankfully not super early the trichs were mostly cloudy. Was hoping to wait for...

Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

After messing with my diy cooler more today I think this will work. In my case since the tote is larger than it probably should be and not insulated I don't really need the humidifier at all. Just adjust the cooling module voltage to regulate dew point / water vapor pressure and the temps...

Wow at the translation on that page, can tell nobody speaks english. Not even close. But huge BUT if it does what it says it does then yes that would work nicely. I would have to see how it handles humidifying and dehumidifying first though.

Ah yes 2 peltiers would most likely over power the cooler too. From my digging around it's said that they make roughly 1.75 times more heat than cold.

Don't think the others are really much smaller. Scroll through the pics and look. Fan, peltier, heatsinks. Can't get much smaller. But the cooler being tiny is why I decided to go the diy route.

Too big as in it's overpowering the cooler? If so hunt around and find a power brick that puts out less voltage but roughly the same amps as the one it come with. Or just order a variable voltage power supply something like 0-12v 10a or so should be plenty for 1 peltier like that.

Well with roughly a half gallon of water soaked in towels sitting in bowls for some moisture even without insulation it appears as though it will work. It is able to keep the box at or below room temp. Now of course some insulation would be helpful and is something I will likely do here...

Finally got my code straightened out and bench tested all the sensors and display. Crazy how long things that seem so simple can take when you don't know wtf you're doing LOL. Today I learned that Arduino and ESP32 pwm do NOT work the same, not even close. Good times. Can tell I'm mellowing...

Has anyone ran their dehumidifier with the cooler off just to see how much it raises the inside temp? I'm running an old peltier out of a cooler as a test to see how much heat they build while I wait for my new ones. So far 3 hours into the test and the temp has seemingly leveled out at 10°F...

I thought about using one of those just for the space savings. But I always come back to the fact the dehumidifier peltier provides heat AND helps remove moisture. I decided to just go with the trusty 27gal tote as a test "box" after seeing someone use a wardrobe box on YT. Figured if it's too...
