Hi I have a problem with a strain in my tent , massive roots on transition to last pot before budding , plants going sick and when pulled the root ball has lost 90 %

Hi I have planted a couple of mothers outside and the started to bud but now look weird are they reveging ?? Any help this is my first time outdoors Thanks you for the info just checked them today and now have new shoots coming out
