It's my notill bed tent, so I wanted to maintain as much vertical clearance as possible. It allows my light to go all the way to the ceiling while still containing the initial carbon filtration inside the tent. I'm running passive intake thru 6"diameter HEPA filters.

Yes. I highly recommend KiS. I put the kit together myself cuz I was mixing 18 cu ft of base soil. There is a ton of info out there on coots mix, but you wouldn't want to use that with Promix. The coots mix is based on a 1:1:1 base ratio of Peat: Aeration: Compost.

I hear that. I based my DIY light on the highly reputable PLC strips. One went bad and they had already closed their doors. Probably going to replace with HLG QBs. I know they arent going anywhere.
