My medium is happy frog, which is milder than ocean forest so you may be onto something. I got my pen coming in tomorrow which coincides with my water schedule so I'll keep y'all posted.

Wouldn't you want lower ppm coming out? Runoff ppm should be lower vs input ppm to signify the roots are taking in nutrients? I could be misunderstanding this but I was of the impression the roots eat so less should be running off.

Forgot to mention that I do also have a couple of clip on fans in there to have some circulation at least to prevent stagnant air. That's probably what's still keeping my girls alive right now.
