    Lights good for veg?

Your right my bad, thought he said 2 x ts1000 and 1x ts3000 Are these the right ones? They look very nice but a little too expensive? adjust a wing, heat shield and a 600w se will cover 1m x 1.4m really well, add a lightrail and your looking to cover 1.8m x 1m (6ft x 3.5ft)

    When I was a newbie

20 years back, a friend say I could get loads of free weed, just let my mate grow in your loft, they dropped around 4 x 600w hps magnetic ballasts and 30 plants in a 2m x 2m room built out of insulation boards Took too many leaves off, temps 3c at night and 35c light on, pulled 25oz's not great...

    Lights good for veg?

Your not making any sense, a single ts1000w would cover a 1m x 1m canopy in veg (quick look online) So you veg room needs to be 1/3 of the size of the flower room, pot plants up in the flower room for a week and flower them off. This saves you loads of space and reduces the running cost and...

    Lights good for veg?

Run the lights at night, desert get very cold at night? The basic maths are just common sense, if you live in a contry where the temps are under 20c most the year, hps are a good choice, in the winter my garden hit -4c and my flower hit 15c with 2 x 600w hps, if I had leds I would need a heater...

As Jimmy said these are amazing lights. These digital ballast have been around for the last 15 years, my ballast let's me turn it down to 250w and use a 250mh (bulb cost me £20) Don't know about the heat as 1kw of electricity will produce the same amount of heat from a heater or light, leds...

    Lights good for veg?

It's great to talk to somebody feeling the same way, all these growers going on about leds because they use 30% less power but most of these cost £700-£800 to get smilar results to 600w hps. Just doing simple maths makes you realise there not worth the money.

Having a quick look online, looks like the 3 lights cost close to $1000  Buying a 600w hps, hood, bulbs and all the electric for a hole year (6 crops) would cost less

    Problems in soil - pics

Been thinking about this, magnesium (Epson salt) will reduce your pH causing lock out. So I would rise the water ph to 7 while you give the plants Epson salts

    Lights good for veg?

DIY lights That will work really well, should beable to cut the plastic caps off with a hack saw (shown in the video) gives the plants more light. I would hang the bulbs on chain so you can adjust the height, each bulb should cover a 6"x 6" canopy, I would also top the plants in early veg, as...

    Lights good for veg?

It's best to use 3 x 15w Philip's bulbs One for each plant ( only 45 Watts but give you great results) I would top the plants and hang the bulb in the middle 2" above the plants ( should cover 6" x 6") DIY light

    Problems in soil - pics

Your plants have magnesium deficiency, could be the food or the low ph, I would keep my ph closer to 6.7 6.4 is a little low Also the soil look a little woody, low quality soil.

Keeping a plant vegetating for months with low light?

I would give it a go, you have nothing to lose You need a cheap bag of soil, perlite and seaweed meal, I would use 5ltr pots Would be happy to help you. Small plants in veg don't need much light, indirect light could give off more Lums than a t5 depending on where you live. What's the night...

Defoliation - removing fan leaves for higher yield

You have got the right idea, don't think it's good to remove too many leaves in one go, alway good to lollipop the lower canopy and thin the plants out, a few thick main shoots will allway give you better results than 100's of stretched shoots, 3 weeks in flower thin the canopy out, remove 20...

Should the soil be sterilized before growing cannabis?

I grow in a shed and have a constant gnats checking out my plants but have found a way to control them, use containers with a flat base and drill a few holes near the center, 2" of sand on the top of the soil and water from the bottom (drop in a bucket of water) If they can't get to the dirt...

What is the best soil for cannabis?

It's probably good advice to mix the soil up a few week before but you don't have too. you can still get great results from mixing the soil up and potting up at the same time, I alway soak the root mass and then drop the plant into dry soil, the dry soil draws the water from root mass and the...
