    Flowering seedling

On second look, are those little hairs or thin leaves reflecting light? They do look like hairs kinda. Puzzling indeed

    Flowering seedling

Im seeing a twisted up leaf on the lower portion on original post. Id assume light stress, and or heat stress. The flowering metioned mine have done that as well. I belive it was fighting nute issues, mainly sulfer with bunched growing shoots with thin blades ect.. Zinc i believe can cause...

    Different styles of Rdwc systems?

Most people will say your nuts for wanting some crazy system..... I'm not one of those people

    Different styles of Rdwc systems?

I'm thinking of changing it. If you use shower drains in the bottom of the tote directly under each plant, then have a long enough length of pipe back to a main res, the roots could be in the tube. Plants could be as close as you want with out tangling them.

    Different styles of Rdwc systems?

With what I've seen, roots in tubes are ok. They stay straight and come out easy like hair out of a drain. My veg is undercurrent with waterfalls in each 27 gal tote. I usually have 2 plants per tote. I grow them 3ft tall. And by then the roots have been separated multiple times and they still...

    Different styles of Rdwc systems?

I would think as long as the roots get what they need, a system could be built in any sort of configuration you could think of. I use a ebb and flow system mounted to the wall. I train the plants sideways to lay flat. This allows me to access the entire room from underneath. All this is about 3...

    First Ebb & Flow

Cool. Not arguing. Your right, there is gaps in rock. I don't think if the 02 is removed there will be any sort of vacuum to pull more 02 in. My table had 1 gallon nursery pots for holding rock. When filled, and watered, and then let to sit for several weeks( like when I'm lazy and dont clean...

    First Ebb & Flow

A deep vessel filled with rock gets no airflow at the bottom. When the 02 is used it can't be replaced until it is pushed out from the bottom. It does not matter what you call it. When flooding happens it brings new air with oxygen to the roots. You say that does not matter, I find otherwise...

    First Ebb & Flow

If you think that it doesn't need flooded that often, that's fine. I was giving my opinion on different systems. My hydroton would be dry if it was not flooded that often. Yours might not be

    First Ebb & Flow

"Old air" to me is air in the root area that has used the 02 and requires expelling. Then the fresh air in is loaded with 02

    First Ebb & Flow

My other runs have been flooded every 2 hours, 24 hours a day. With hydrotron filled 1 gallon buckets. I belive flooding is doing more than wetting roots. It is expelling old air and bringing fresh 02 to the roots. And that is most important

    First Ebb & Flow

Mine don't look good unless I flood every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. I also experiment with root mat flood and drain. No rock, no rock wool, no nothing. Just a good fitting lid

how do I get rid of leftover medium/trimmings?

I've been putting all sticks and leaves and root masses in a plastic 55 gallon drum. The drum has a removable top that reseals. The material composts rapidly with heat from sunlight. And it can't be seen or smelled. Good luck.

Wats better dry trimin or wet trimin

I was wondering why I had that smell/taste when I trim heavy when wet. (Its what friends said to do). So I'm going to do more trimming dry and see what happens. Thanks for that info!

    DUMB Co2 accident...still salvageable??

Pics would help too. Also if roots are bad or rotten, they are done at this point.

    DUMB Co2 accident...still salvageable??

I have outside air in, my results are just not consistant. Sometimes small, sometimes stretch, sometimes not. I was thinking of starting a journal so Y'all could see my inconsistencies. I was wondering if anyone had pics of a known low co2 condition.

    DUMB Co2 accident...still salvageable??

Very true. Start the next batch. It will take time to dial in dwc from your past setup. Ph is very important in dwc. Might be other factors and not co2.

    DUMB Co2 accident...still salvageable??

I myself am trying to find info on what a plant looks like with low co2. I might be in that boat.

    rdwc water pump question

I think as long as all the totes are plumbed in and out, it does not matter where the hole is located.
