I want to know if I can pick a small bud off my marijuana plant and smoke it, they will be done flowdring in the middle of december but they are pretty frosty and have a good portion of brown hairs, so is it ok to pick a small bud off to smoke?

I have 18 grade a plants growing as we speak, seeds from amsterdam and they are growing just fine. By the way its a indoor growth. My question is how do i get 1 to 2 pounds per tree? I am giving them time to grow in the veg stage and i wont flower until feb 1 they have been growing since october...
