my friend told me about one of his friends who apparently stole numerous headlights from cars, the HID lights that glow sort of blue..he claims that since the colors are higher in the spectrum (about 5k he said) it works very well for growing...is this a load of bull, or is he on to something?

Im about to start my first grow, im looking to grow white widow max? it seems to have a good yield and thc amount, best of both worlds, but what are the pros and cons of doing 18/6 and 24/0 for lights..wouldnt 24/0 be better?
