my ph in the soil is about a 7.5 or so and water is about 5.8. the stem is turning white but the leaves are still green but there is fuzzy stuff on the stem, are those crystals for fungus? please help

my waters PH is around 5.8 and my soil PH is at a little lower than 8 what do i do? my baby's stem is turning white :(

my plant is about 5 days old now and yesterday was the first sign of problems, the stem is starting to turn yellowish and is making an S shape. is it my ph or over watering or is the lamp i have my lamp about 20 inches away. anything will help, i will post pics soon.
