Diagnose this leaf issue, wrinkly and a bit of tacoing?!

"hot spot" as in temperature? I've written about the "hot spot" in terms of the PPFD map but LED's generate so little heat that I'd be surprised that anyone even measures temperature.

Yes, 60% is good at 75°. Keep your temps at about 75 if you can and try to keep RH at about 60% and you should be good to go. Here's why I say that: Below is a screenshot of a vapor pressure deficit ("VPD"). VPD (more here) is one number to describe a range of temperature and RH combination...

    Epsilon F1 RQS

Disregard what the website advertises. Like smoking a brisket, it's done when it's done. The colas don't look swollen and the last picture doesn't show individual trichomes but if there was a lot of amber, we would see a darker coloration of the mass of trichs. The best way to tell is to get...

Diagnose this leaf issue, wrinkly and a bit of tacoing?!

Good question. And wind speed-fans blowing on the plant might be causing the leaves to curl.

Diagnose this leaf issue, wrinkly and a bit of tacoing?!

I agree with @medidedicated. The leaves have great color. OTOH, pictures of the entire plant and grow area are very helpful. 24" and 40% - what light are you using?

Foxtailing at the end of flower

Heh, breaking news on foxtailing (I know how to party, don't I!) Just caught this YT short video where Shane is talking to Dr. Hawley from Fluence. The clip is from a longer video that I watched earlier this year but I didn't catch this detail. Hawley is talking about light levels and...

    1kw bar led

PAR is 400-700 so it's picking up the 660nm "deep red" photons but I know where you're coming from. If you check out the new lights from Migro, with their excellent PPFD maps, and then check the graphic of the spectrum. PPFD map in a 4' tent at 20" is "amazing" And is this product...

    5x5 set up...looking for ideas?

I did a grow in 2017, archived my tent, and then started growing again in 2021. My recollection is that the biggest changes in that four year gap were the movement away from blurple to white LED's and tent automation was just starting up at that time. It's a very different story for the changes...

    1kw bar led

Yup, board lights invariably have hot spots. That's part of the design but it also helps lower product cost (R&D costs money). There's also the yield issue because of the PPFD map. :-( I grow in a 2' x 4' with a variety of lights and went searching for a replacement for my 330watt Growcraft...

Foxtailing at the end of flower

I don't see the document being attached to messages. Click harder? [time passes] It's a 19 mb file so, perhaps, too big to upload. :-( [time passes] Opened the PDF in Word and saved it as PDF and, like magic, it's <5 mb.

List three things you learned from last grow.

And having AC Infinity gear keep VPD in range is an awesome way to keep VPD in range.

Foxtailing at the end of flower

"foxtails on the tips" is good way to put it (doesn't need 700 words and a picture book!) Those are my "protuberances". They did pop up in late in flower and I just figure it goes with the territory. If you've got to dim the light to get temp down, agree 100% to dim the light.

Foxtailing at the end of flower

Re. temperature— high heat destroys cannabanoids. Back in 2021, Mitch Westmoreland did a study of the impact of temperature on cannabis and my opening sentence is from my notes from that video. Fast forward to 18 months ago and student Mitch released a video in which he shared some of the...

Foxtailing at the end of flower

At high PPFD's, cannabis will foxtail. I had a grow in 2022 that fox tailed because I tried to light two plants with one light. It wasn't until the damage had been done that I bought my little Vipar XS 1500. This is that the larger plant looked like, long, wispy flowers instead of...

    First topping

At 82°, high 60's will serve you well. Oh, I've managed to f up a few grows but topping wasn't the issue. ;-)

5x5 grow 4 plants? Whats the yield looking like?

If you give your plants enough light, you should at least meet the seed seller's estimates for yield. It's almost impossible to cause damage to a cannabis plant with an LED grow light. In four years on three cannabis sites, I've only seen it once. It is quite possible to give plants too much...

    First topping

Looking at the thermometer in the photo, the temp is 82°, which is great for a seedling, but it looks like the RH is 50-something. If that's the case, your plant will have an easier time if you increase the humidity. A plant that young is still developing the root system that's needed to take up...

    First topping

You've topped the plant by cutting the apical stem flush with the fourth node. I suspect that will allow the stem to split as the plant matures. I can't definitely say that will harm the plant but I don't think it helps the plant. When topping plants in the future, it's fine to top at the...

Second grow dwc to autopotspider farmer self watering system 100% coco

Plants are looking great! With lots of food (light) and a good supply of vitamins and minerals (fertilizer/nutrients) they should continue to do really well. @Wastei hits it on the head with "More nutrient is not better and won't make the plant grow bigger or faster, it's the other way...

    Water question

As I would not bubble air through it. The only outcome of that is that the CO2 in the air will drop pH—you can't super saturate O2 in a nutrient solution by bubbling. Other than that, there shouldn't be an issue. Nutrients are designed to go into solution easily and most do so quite well. You...
