A Bored Electrician to Answer Your Questions

Here are the pics... My questions are where to attach the green wire going from the sub panel? Where does it go on the main panel? In the same place as the bare one? Then for 220 on the new panel, the bare wires go on the far outside of the panel? For 110, I get hot (black) from the...

Chiller In Lieu Of Air Conditioning?

Bob, I'll answer one of your questions... A 2HP chiller would heat up your garage immensely, in return it would be difficult to keep the tents cool unless they were insulated like a fridge. If you were to put it outside and bought an aquarium chiller, then yes... it would work. An aquarium...

Hey man, hope all is well. My room is coming along nicely... can't wait to see these MONSTER TOMATOES! I'm pretty confused on my next connection, how to do it safely and how to properly ground my sub panel. Here is what I have so far: Two 110 hots coming from taps through copper 2/0. The taps...

Hydro Innovations Ice Box 8" for 4000w Cooled by Swimming Pool?

You'll get plenty of condensation in the winter since the water will be much colder, so tap the bottom of the IB's to drain them. Also, scratch the pump... use your existing pool pump...

^ Right on, I just didn't know the higher wattage was controllable like it is in the toothbrush example. I also didn't understand that the same principle is what has led to confusion over "smart meters" and the true reason why some taps are so hard to find by the sweep teams. Cheers!

WOW, you rock. This not only makes sense but explains the "urban myth" that you can light light bulbs if you live near power lines! as well as you can feel the static... I never understood why the myth even existed. It also explains why I'm so happy to see the article on magnetic induction in...

two lamps, two rooms, one ballast!

I don't even come close to understanding this. Is this so you can run two 300 watt lamps off one 600 watt ballast? Or to run two 600 watt lamps off a single 600 watt ballast?

OK... sped read the #520's and currently on post 589. So you don't quote yourself :-) Here it is: What I don't get is, If some grow operations are running isolated pre-meter taps into a dedicated main panel which only powers the grow off contractors connected to the legal panel... how does the...
