    Leaky bong.

What about porcelain tile / grout sealer. It's very liquid and sloshed around the inside and is not expensive. Just allow the recommended time to dry as per the manufacturers recommendation. Unless you plan in drinking your bong water, I can't see why you couldn't use it.

    Hollow stem

In marijuana botany, I read that there was a correlation between hollow and solid stems and potency to which the hollow stemmed plants were supposedly more potent then solid stemmed plants. I never read further into it so I don't know if there is any truth to that. I will say that my best...

Leaves Yellowing during flowering too fast?

The exact same thing happened to me many years back. The buds smelled like pencil shavings and produced an acrid, bitter smoke. The high was mediocre. My yield was dismal.

Phresh filter vs Active Air filters "Need Info on this please"

In six years I have used (2) Phresh filters and I am now just going to order another one. I have vey low humidity (< 30%) so that is why I was able to go so long with just one. I am not going to decommission the old one yet either as I set up a filter system for my living room area and will use...

    pro mix and rust spots

And if something like that happened to me, I wouldn't be buying either. One question, are you growing in an outdoor plot or in a greenhouse. If you are using native soils in a greenhouse, be careful as there is a good chance of damping off. I lost an entire crop many years back for that very...

    pro mix and rust spots

Like you. I too have unloaded many pallets of Premier products, Sunshine products etc. and what you said is exactly the case. Once in a while a few bags get wet during transportation. Nobody, regardless of brand, are going to package extra water into their product because more weight equals more...

    pro mix and rust spots

I only live about 50 miles from one of their harvest areas. I can go there and pick up peat moss by the truck load for super cheap. I personally don't have issues with fungus gnats but at the nursery, you would sometimes choke on the gnats when you went to water or move flats. I hand water what...

    pro mix and rust spots

Of course, it has no real nutrient content and is rather inert. I consider it either as an inert growing medium or as a base for organic compost mixes.

Also wanted to add that at the nursery, we used to avoid watering the foliage, especially roses as many diseases like powdery mildew were spread by the water. The nursery used a lagoon to supply it's water so whatever microbes landed into the water would infect the supply.

    pro mix and rust spots

Rust has a 2 part life cycle. It starts on spruce and pine trees and then goes to other plants. So if you are getting rust fungus, look at your local spruce and or pine. Promix is sterilized as is most inert growing mediums.

    pro mix and rust spots

Those 'rust spots' are most likely concentrated tannins from the peat. Just like tea stains. I first discovered promix at the nursery I worked at around 10 years ago. It has always been consistent for me. It's unfortunate the bales are saturated with water but that staining will happen with any...

How do YOU think there doing?

Just finished reading all 25+ pages and very nice... Ima gonna sub. I have been ordering my nutrients from T & T hydroponics. Their pricing seems to be average. I am predominantly a soil grower but I am entertaining the idea of Dutch buckets for my next grow. I definitely like the faster...

    Bomb Seeds - Experiences?

I have grown out Berry Bomb, Widow Bomb, and THC Bomb. All three varieties were vigorous growers. I did a smoke report on Berry Bomb so you can look that up if you like. The THC Bomb was some sticky crystal coated greatness. The Widow Bomb was great for pain relief but nothing to write home...

Using crushed granite as a growth medium!!!

That being said, you can go anaerobic quite easily with a finer media so you need to account for those aforementioned aspects. I grew aquatic plants and marginal plants from when I was a kid so I applied those techniques into hydroponics and it works really well for me.

Using crushed granite as a growth medium!!!

Surface area... When it comes to roots, the more, the merrier. Also it provides more habitat for microbial life and it will retain more water through capillary action on top of absorption.

    Alternatives for hydroton clay?

While it is not cheaper, sintered glass is superior to hydroton in every way except in price.

Using crushed granite as a growth medium!!!

For my freshwater aquariums and also my marginal plants for my pond, I use 1/8" crushed and screened gravel. I found that the plant growth was way more vigorous with the smaller screen size so I would say the smaller, the better. The only issue is still the lack of absorption of water and...

Using crushed granite as a growth medium!!!

Colander is a great way to wash gravel or aggregates. The only problem with granite is it will not absorb water and nutrients into it's matrix as it is very dense. So you may have to increase watering intervals because that type of medium would dry out quicker because it cannot absorb water.

    2000 watts suspicious?

I would be definitely cautious with a smart meter. While only rumor, I have heard that those smart meters can go as far as to identify the type of equipment being used by how the power is being drawn but until you know one way or another, it would be good to be cautious.
