Nice report. Lots of info there. Doesn't sound like you'd really recommend either strain...but useful info nonetheless. I was particularly interested to read that they're not the light feeders that they're claimed to be. Did you happen to make any hash out of either of these strains? Seems...

Yep. My comment was just meant to clear up the op's misconception about pKa values. From an operational point of view, raising the pH may very well help to avoid an emulsion (as you say)...just another reason to "basify the living crap out of it." That's what the calcium hydroxide is for...

The pH at half-neutralization is numerically equal to pKa...so, if you only lowered the pH to 8.7 during the basification step, in theory you would still have half of the DMT present as its (water soluble) protonated form. BUT...by raising the pH higher and higher, you can shift the equilibrium...

Have to agree with others here...sannie's shop would be a great place to start. Attitude is also reliable for delivery and has a much larger variety. Many of their strains are a little pricey for a first-time grow, but they certainly carry some cheaper strains as well. And growing out their fem...
