First Grow & New Grow Room

^^^^ Read as much as you can! Seriously though I can't recommend the basic bubble bucket setup enough - cut some holes in the lid for net pots and then throw a couple air stones in the bucket to aerate the water. And you can't have enough lighting!!!! Just keep the temps under control.

    Not Sproutin

Don't let the root get so long... you want to plant as soon as that is about 1cm.

    Wiring A Heat Sink Help!!

If you go with the soldiering iron method you are better off making your own heat sync to maximize the contact with the heating element.

any one else TRYING to grow in dirt?

Sorry I mis-understood... thought you were just newbin it up. Will be interested to see what happens... I guess if you have roses growing then the 'dirt' is probably decent. Track the progress... be a nice comparison to real soil mixes.

    night light?

It's a snazzy term for a piece of metal with air between each layer so it helps to dissipate the heat. In this case you would take a soldiering iron and remove the parts down to the ceramic core. Next you would take some sheet aluminum or some metal you can manipulate. And curl around the...

any one else TRYING to grow in dirt?

Lots of people on here use soil for grows. If you want this to succeed then you should post more info. If you are just using dirt from the backyard you may want to consider upgrading at some point....

My plant is starting to look sick in flowering

    night light?

I was just reading the bud dryer thread and you could make a heat sync that kicks on when the lights go off. Check out that thread for ideas but the cheap & easy one is to use a soldiering iron and a small piece of aluminum. Just like the reverse of your computer fan and heat sync where it...

    night light?

Trying to think outside the box.... coming up short. Only thing I can think of is some home-electronics that run hot... cable modems, etc that you could put in there over-night.

My plant is starting to look sick in flowering

Are the leaves spotted? Based on the description it would seem over-ferts but the pictures look more like over-watering. Maybe salt build-up in the soil? I don't do soil so hold off for better opinions.

    night light?

Yeah I added that to clear up any questions... and you happened to ask the same thing I thought was still open-ended. For heat you can find small little space heaters that do not generate light - some of the ceramic style ones. But are your temps that low? The plants will be OK down into...
