Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

So I got 4 hung up via 2 x2 bulb splitters (the 45 degree angle ones) and I gotta say the angular v is not the best for the heat dissipation. I am pulling anywhere from 84 to 90 degrees (too hot) depending on configuration. I will definitively need to use more filter screen area/opening, as it...

Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

Lights got in, I only had a few min to play with them. 4 x 2700 and 1 x 6500. all at 105w rated on box @ 6900 lumen a piece. The bulbs are spiral and a little larger than spec out on their website. total lumen: 34,500 @ 525w. I plugged 3 in to see what temps would be without any vent on, just...

Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

this: cut to size http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ12kx/R-100011568/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 flows real nice. The ion generator came in the post today as well. Interesting device, clears smoke in a room well, I will be interested on how much effect it will...

Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

Just finished adding a larger inline fan from homedepot. The cabinet has a main large grow chamber, that is then vented into a smaller top "vent chamber" with the home depot inline fan/duct booster rated at 80cfm (the whole cabinet is only 8cfm so it should vent out 10x a minute keeping the...

Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

Another thing I found with clf's in the past is that the number of bulbs contrubutes to heat more than higher wattage. IE it seems that a 14w cfl gets as hot as a 23w. So it would make more sense that my 5 105 watt bulbs will run cooler than say 23 x 23watt bulbs. I would also think that is why...

Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

found on another forum describing how lumen are cumulative so my 6200 x 5 = 30,000 is correct. Re: Will addding bulbs add more Watts and Lumens? An einstein is a unit used in irradiance and in photochemistry. One einstein is defined as one mole of photons, regardless of their frequency...

Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

here is the calc. I used for figuring out the lux http://www.ledrise.com/shop_content.php?coID=19 and http://www.weedfarmer.com/cannabis/lighting_guide.php I find even with the max height with shortest plants (a combo I don't plan on using) it wont go below 10000lux at the base (without any...

Is a CFL cabinet @ 525w (actual) 30,000 lumen in a 18"x22" cabinet too many lumen?

The inverse square law wont really apply too much here that the cab is only 18"w x 22"l x 4"h The walls will be close enough keeping the bulbs near either the plant or the reflective surface. I cant wait for the bulbs to deliver so I can see what kind of heat temps I will have to deal with. I...

Nice. Thanks for the replies! I plan on having 2 bulbs on each top/side and the 6500k centered each with a back reflector. I will start looking for extra fan power!! Then will come the log! Anyone know where I can find a wick system nut. schedule?
