    Phresh Hyper Fan Climate Control

If only it had a humidity control on it also. I love my hyperfans. I have 3 in my room, in, out, and scrub. With all three on (different setting on each) and a UV-C light (turns on with scrubber), they only pull around 150 watts.

How does efficiency effect a grow?

If you are in the Bay Area, PM about renting my Apogee. You can get a cheap lux meter and get equivalent #'s to check against.

SA indoor noob needs help choosing COBs

@mahiluana http://www.starlite-led.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/600W-Datasheet-V1.0.pdf As a personal grower it wasn't worth it. The heat sink can actually support 2 @ CLU058 3618's just fine. When I was running a water cool fixture and a heatsink cooled fixture, the only advantage was the...

SA indoor noob needs help choosing COBs

I am wondering if any of you have actually don't any par reading between watercooling and just a heat sink? I have built a couple and I am not convinced it is worth it. I took one of my monster heat sinks on a very cold day and took 2 par readings with the COB running @ 250 watts. The Tc while...

Eat Your Heart Out COB and QB Growers!!

I stripped down my 500w stadium light. Used the drivers, threw on a 100w driver and now have a bright as F%$# shop light. They don't even use the 500 watt heat sink on theirs. I am pretty sure they only use the 4 heatpipe version.

    Mini split btu?

My 12,000btu mini has done good to around 3000 watts of COB's. My rooms not big enough for any more wattage, 75sq/ft., so, not sure if it could handle more.

Can a light get too efficient

I have done this test and my results were different. With minimal air movement in and out of tent and in a sealed tent (5'x5'). Don't remember the # on sealed, but a 600w HPS, once temps stopped rising (82*F). Everything the same but 950w of COB leds, it stayed at 78*. Sealed #'s were a little...

Can a light get too efficient

It does have a dehu mode, but I have never used it.

Can a light get too efficient

I don't use the AC unless it's summer. I do use the dehumidifier to help maintain temps when it's cool. I should check which is more efficient at dehumidifying, my 12,000 btu mini-split or my 70 pint dehumidifier? They both have a max draw of 750W@115v.

    a question about air conditioning

You would need to add CO2 if you turn the fan into a scrubber. I can run either way, but I have 2 filters and 3 hyperfans. I have a small filter attached to a 6" fan for scrubbing and a it is on for 15 mins/off 15. If I am using CO2, the 2 8" fans only kick on if humidity spikes. They are...

Would one of these COB led be enough for a 5 x 5 grow tent?

They are claiming 165 lm per watt. I really doubt that.

    Premade Cob help

Most likely the drivers are also garbage. Why start with an inefficient driver, they are the foundation of the light. Meanwell HLG drivers are 93-96% efficient while the ones in that panel are more likely mid 80% and will likely fail. So for every thousand watts you run you are throwing away 100...

question - 500 Watt true colour led from Yuji LED ($500)

The CLU058 3618 4000k/90cri @ 450 watts is over 46,000 lumen. Is that seven CRI worth it?

I would wire half to each lead or put both together. 11 amps at that voltage needs thick wire.

    Quantum Boards or COBS?

I have run this test a few different ways and my results show much less heat watt for watt, even in a sealed tent with nothing but a wall fan inside the tent (950w in a 5'x5' on 73*f day= 84*f). I have also tested a tent with a 600 HPS with a small intake and exhaust, just enough exhaust to...

    CREE CXB3070 + meanwell hbg-60 -1400 + MODULED MEGA 13450-B-HBG / COB PROBLEM

My guess is those thermal pads aren't working. I had bad thermal results every time I tried to use them. This might be why they lasted a little while before going dead. I will only use thermal paste now. If you pull one apart and it doesn't look like the pad cooked to the chip or heatsink, then...

    Driver Voltage

Yeah, it is better to call those CC/CV drivers. The datasheet can explain how that works.

Is 30" tall enough for COBS? If so please advise on my build.

No, the extra blue will reduce stretch. Deeper/more red will increase stretch.

    Buds quality LEDs VS HPS

When I need the heat, I use my dehumidifier and add CO2. I have setup to run sealed or vented, with or without CO2. Another option is a CO2 burner.
