well a 600w hps is like 100000 lumes and i think the decent 1000w lights are bout 150000 lumes so its about the same, you get the same lumes from 3 600w bulbs (1800w total) as you get from 2 1000w lights(2000 total watts) so the 600w lights are a tad more efficient and im just gunna leave it at...

dude the color temp is already set in the bulb, which for a hps i believe is 2200K which is probably the best commercially produced light spectrum for a flowering plant.
