Yep I do that, and it's worked out well. I just cut off two clones from my cheese which was about 4 weeks into flowering, and it worked great. The new clones are both already over around a foot tall after only 2 weeks.

from what I read one way to get more bud is to harvest only part of the plant. When you do this your plant will grow through a regenerative cycle and new foliage will begin to grow.
