Hey guys please criticize my setup

Don't trust that guy. You have a good looking setup. That 400 is going to make for some interesting lower growth. Keep us updated. I'd like to see how this turns out.

    Is this a bad idea?

Experiment! That's what makes life tolerable.

    Nutrients But Only Flowering

I'm not familiar with that brand, but check the nitrogen levels. Many bloom formulas have enough. Also, does your soil have a starter charge of fertilizer? If it does, you'll be good to go with that autoflower. Otherwise, try to find some guano at a garden store. This advice only pertains to...

    New Grow from seed

A CFL around 6500K color temp will suit you. In the propagator, you want to leave them there till they get a nice set of roots. Assuming you're using plugs or small rockwool, you want to see roots coming out of 2 or 3 sides of the plug...one root coming out is not quite enough to transplant...

    A Couple of Fan Questions

I'd like to help, but I don't quite understand what you've written. Would you be willing to rephrase your question?

Is the Ecosystem a good investment.

Do a search on this forum for stadium grow and vertical grow. There are a few growers who have done great DIY projects that will outproduce the machine in your link for a fraction of the price. That said, it's your money; if you have it, go for it! I'd like to see a journal about that thing...

My Very First Grow Ever and Stealthy as can be :)

Couple of weeks usually. Maybe more if you have any light leaks. Looks like a nice box though. Good luck with your grow.

Problems with A/C and C02 in Grow Room

I don't use CO2, so take my information for what it's worth...but I believe, if you're running around 1500ppm CO2, you want the temperatures to be right around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Try turning the A/C off while the light is on, and just using it to cool down during lights off. Wait for...

    Seedlings eta?

Usually only a few days. But there are factors that could keep it there longer...low humidity, high/low heat, etc. If it hasn't grown in maybe 8 days, try again. Good luck to you.

    Smart pot users

I use 5 gallon Smart Pots, and I wouldn't put a seedling in one. It's just too much volume of soil to maintain without roots in it. Start off with a party cup, and leave it in there for at least 2 weeks. When you can see roots starting to poke out of the bottom of the cup, you can get away with...

    vertical growth has ceased..HELP

Your plant looks healthy to me. You may be experiencing a "watched pot never boils" phenomenon...so don't do anything drastic. You don't appear to have any nutrient deficiency or toxicity, so you're good there. You appear to have enough light. From what you've written and from what I can (or...

    whats better

What's better for you? If you stagger them 4 weeks apart, you'll have to mix different nutrient solutions for the separate tents. That's probably no big deal since you're doing aero. If you grow all together you'll have a lot more trimming, drying, and curing to do at once, but you'll only have...

    So much condensation!

You need the dehumidifier like frmrboi mentioned. Your filter will clog early if you use it in an environment humid enough to make the walls wet. Make sure to use the bathroom vent when you're showering too...just in case you don't already.

Anyone else think we need a hash subforum?

I'd like a hash subforum. I'd assume a concentrates forum would include tinctures.

Carbon Filters. Who uses what? DIY, Brand Name, Generics

I use a Phresh filter in my tent. Got it here: http://www.greners.com/i/fans-ventilation-filters/filters-odor/carbon-filters/phresh-filters.html Most carbon filters are refillable. It's just a hassle to refill them. Reputable manufacturers use a platform that shakes the filter while it's being...

    using 100% perlite for plants?

I used to clone in half perlite and half vermiculite. The vermiculite will hold water longer. I think you'll need to top-feed perlite 2 or 3 times a day. Don't try to ebb and flow in perlite because it floats. To answer your question, yes, perlite alone works as a soil-less medium. Hydroton...

    What happened?

If you let the water sit out for a day or so, it'll probably drop in pH to around 7.5 maybe. You can collect rainwater, which is free and already at pH 6.8, or you can get some pH down. Bottled water is great if you have a calcium or magnesium deficiency, but you may still need to adjust pH.

    best store bought soil

You could mix that peat moss with some coir and perlite. I use Sunshine Advanced Mix #4. More info here: http://www.sunshineadvanced.com/products

Recovering or Dying :S "help needed!" (discoloration of leaves!)"noob cfl dwc"

You'll be ok. It looks like nutrient lockout. Flush them with proper pH water, then give them nutrient solution and you'll be good to go. The claw leaves will perk back up, but the mottled ones won't recover. Leave them on though; your plant can feed on them for a bit.

Someone said my 5 week olds are stretching too much?

Maybe a little stretchy. They look fine though. Maybe move the light a little closer if it's not too hot.
