I worked at a nursery when I was a kid. We had a saying, plant it high, it won't die, plant it low and it won't grow. That's true for most nursery plants, but not especially true for plants like marijuana and tomatoes. It's usually better to plant the roots and a little bit of the stem.

The 150 will do fine for any marijuana plant, but you shouldn't think that it will replace the sun's rays. If you can supplement that 150 with a couple of cfls at the sides, then even better.

2 or 3 inches is optimum for cfls. Otherwise you're doing good.

I don't have any vegetables planted yet, but definitely ghost peppers and heirloom brandywine tomatoes. I'll probably grow lettuce and several other kinds of peppers.

I have my ac vents blocked to all the rooms except my grow room. In addition, I put in a ceiling vent with a ozone generator in the vent and a fan pulling the hot air out. I also put a gallon jug of frozen water in my reservoir. All of that and a fan blowing on my lights manages to keep the heat...

There it is with the new vent. Now the water is flowing very evenly and there's no alternating chugs of water and air. Thanks again for the help. I still don't see how an air bubble can hold back 8 gallons of water, but it is fixed.

The buckets are horizontally connected and share a single drain hose. As for the drain hose, I changed it so that it's all downhill now. Thanks.

I was thinking that it could be an air bubble in the line. It seems that when it's locked up like that all I have to do is move the drain hose a little and it starts flowing again....So, how to prevent an airlock?

It looks like these guys got you taken care of. Get the spiders before they get you. Also, you might want to buy a gallon of home defense and spray your grow area before each grow. I keep a gallon on hand for that and I haven't had a bug problem yet. Good luck.
