    [Question] Soil Reuse

That depends on what all you can find. Take a look at what's available for you and post it here and I'm sure we can help you work through it. If you have trouble sourcing all of it, I would prioritize kelp, neem, one of the rock dusts (i prefer basalt, but i think azomite is usually easiest to...

    [Question] Soil Reuse

^do this^ :) When he says add 1/3rd he just means mixing your soil with ewc where the ewc is 1/3 of the total volume. As he mentioned, you'll need to add aeration as well if you do this. So in this case you could do 1/3rd of your soil, 1/3rd ewc and 1/3rd aeration. You can mix in small batches...

lets talk worms! Bins, castings, techniques etc

I'm always up for discussing worms! I love what your doing with your bins. That feed should give you terrific castings! Here's my thread with pics about the bin i built https://rollitup.org/t/finally-building-a-flow-through-worm-bin-pics-and-a-question-on-getting-started.1021291/#post-15721133...

    A cautionary tail on Spinosad

Just an update for the sake of accuracy. I went back through our logs and we had actually sprayed again in week 6 of flower. Something we normally dont do, but the bugs were getting out of control so we decided to risk it. This presents an interesting opportunity in that we sent a cultivar for...

    Best soil for organics?

I think coots mix is a good place to start. A simplified version of this would be: Base Mix 1 part sphagnum 1 part aeration - pumice is recommended 1 part ewc's 1 cup per cuft of base mix each of: Basalt oyster shell meal gypsum malted barley powder Neem seed meal Kelp meal If you don't want...

    What Is Your Top Dressing

I was in 5 gallon pots transplanted 2 weeks before flipping to flower and my soil ran out of juice by week 5 or 6 of flower. Now im in 10 gallon pots transplanted the same day I flip to flower and will be top dressing around day 28-35. This is a new process for me so i can't give you results. I...

Just Got A Worm Bin Going

come to think of it, i wouldn't mind growing my own alfalfa as well. Not sure how hard any of these are to grow of course :)

Just Got A Worm Bin Going

I'm curious, do you grow any other amendments for your soil or worm bins? I was considering stinging nettle and horsetail

    Pot Size for Super Soil

That's a subject of some debate, but i would say 10g is generally considered the minimum.

    Do You Sift Your Compost

I have never sifted my compost, but you might wait for an answer from someone more knowledgeable than me

    Pot Size for Super Soil

Do you plan to do no-till? what's the timing of your final transplant in relation to flipping to flower? Are you water only or using bottled nutrients? Are you top dressing or using tea's?

    How much Basalt?

That includes aeration. Base mix is usually peat+compost/ewc's+aeration
  15. R

    How much Basalt?

If your not going to use any other amendments, I'd go with 2 cups per cuft of base mix on that fertilizer mix
  16. R

    How much Basalt?

I would use 2 cups of basalt per cu ft of base mix, which in your case comes to basically 20 cups of basalt. I don't use dolomite but I dont think you'll need it for water only and you dont have peat moss, but i'd wait for someone more knowledgeable than myself to chime in. You have your base...

Just Got A Worm Bin Going

Thanks for the info. That puts me one step closer to a comfrey patch! :) I think i will end up doing it. It seems like a no brainer given my desire to use comfrey and the ease of growing it vs the price to buy it. I particularly like that harvest is just clear cutting. I'm in growing zone 7b btw

    Dick does dank 2.0

Sorry to hear about the problems with this harvest. Just a small hiccup in a long run of successes i'd say. Sounds like a good plan to get some new genetics going. Have you decided what you're going to run next?

Just Got A Worm Bin Going

Awesome. Thank you. I haven’t decided if I’m going to grow it yet. You brought up my main concern. Where ever I decide to plant it, the comfrey owns that piece of property for ever. The idea of ewc’s from free comfrey and free rabbit poop without paying for any other inputs is pretty tempting :)...
