i have a 400 watt hps for flowering, but I had read that MH is better for vegging.

Not to bad eh? I have a couple leafs dieing on the bottom from lack of light ( i need to buy a MH bulb at some point) but other then that I am happy.

ahh, good to know about the algae, I will try to address the issue.

why is that? I have had several people mention the algae but I was told that its harmless, I am guessing you have different info?

no sir, but I have had more leaf damage and found a second box elder bug on my plant, so I am assuming that's what it is. From my research there is nothing you can do about them besides just kill them when you see them.

so 6 would be too many at this point?

this plant will be 5 weeks old on tuesday, my roommate wants to clone it now and thinks we can get 5 off it, I want to wait a couple weeks to make sure we dont kill the plant and also to make sure that we can get 8 clones. So is he right about getting 5 now?
