Is 185 CFM enough to vent/cool my 96cubic ft room?

"(booster fan)" ???? "wrong" ???? OK...guess I just come around to bullshit people and f*ck up their grows. Duct booster fans are a joke. As a matter of fact, I have a nasty feeling they impede airflow more than they help. I'm talking about a 4" inline centrifugal fan...but I understand...

    Position-Oriented socket?

Just in case this helps anyone in the future...cutting the pin off close with a pair of dykes works wonders. Just make sure that what's left of it stops at the 9 o' clock position.

    AC Install Help Needed

Well, R-22 refrigerant is already obsolete...for several years now. I didn't even know you could still purchase units that ran on it. Not that it REALLY matters...I can still get R-22 easily (and so can anybody with the proper EPA license), but most systems now run R-410A refrigerant. R-22...

    Position-Oriented socket?

No, I understand man. And thanks for the info. Saw the bulb today and sure as shit...there's a small "pin" sticking out of the base of the bulb that, I assume, rests in a groove in the socket...so I found the socket for it online and I'll let him know.

    AC Install Help Needed

Take those caps off with a crescent! You have the small liquid line schrader for attaching gauges to. Then, on the liquid assembly, you have your flare fitting (where your piping connects), and a stem valve. On the suction side, you have the flare fitting, a schrader valve, and a stem valve...

    AC Install Help Needed

Yes, the small schrader valve in the middle is a liquid line port for attaching gauges. Make sure to insulate that suction line (some mini-splits require BOTH lines to be insulated...check your manual) with Armaflex AND GLUE YOUR JOINTS with Armaflex glue (or contact cement). Otherwise, it's...

Wondered when I was gonna start seein Mini Splits in grow rooms! I've been putting them in schools for years now...and yes, they are the cat's meow. Just DON'T BUY UNIONAIRE! I have never, in my life, experienced such piles of trash. Design flaws abound on those babies. If you can afford a...

Is 185 CFM enough to vent/cool my 96cubic ft room?

400w MH, remote ballast, 4" Active Air Inline Fan (ECO5600) Also might add that he used a 12" Oscillating fan (powered on when exhaust was on) aimed between the light and plant tops. Don't have a pre-fan temp really....installed the fan as I built his room. I CAN tell you that the hidden latch...

    Position-Oriented socket?

No...there's something about a "position pin" involved here. Seems I recall the pin needing to rest at the 9 o' clock position... http://www.homeharvest.com/metalhalidebulbs.htm I'm not promoting this supplier...just had the info real quick....I've actually never purchased from them. The...

Can I reduce 6" to 4" without cutting air flow to much????

Chimneys are good for exhaust...that's about it. knock a hole in the brick big enough that you can attach an upward-facing 90deg elbow to your pipe and stub it in there. a screen on the opening never hurts. also, use a backdraft damper near your fan's outlet. birds and squirrels love dying...

Is 185 CFM enough to vent/cool my 96cubic ft room?

fan speed controls are available at ANY electrical supply house for 20 bucks or less. be ready to choose between 3 amp and 6 amp. and 400 cfm is WAY more than plenty for that small of a space. a good way to figure fan requirements: take your room's cubic feet and divide by 3. this will give...

    air conditioning debacle

Nope. window units recirculate the inside air (unless you make it exhaust). air is taken in through the filter behind the face of the unit, passes through a freon-cooled coil, then out the supply openings. outside air is only used to cool the condensing coil (the one that gets hot outside)...
