uk grower need help for prepetual grow

Cloning from veggin plants or a mother plant is identical in process. When getting started, it's easier to have a mother since you'll need to cut clones frequently and regularly until you've established your cycle and filled the space. Most small vegging plants can't affort to lose too many...

uk grower need help for prepetual grow

Hi - I also grow perpetual and agree you should keep it simple to get started. The trikiest part of a perpetual grow is getting all the timing right. And the thats where all the variables can trip you up. It gets too hot / cold, too much / little nutes... all those details can effect plant...

    dry soil

Is the water running out the bottom? 2 things to try - water twice, that is water once, and let it sit for a hour or more and water again. Or, let it sit in a tray, water good till water runs out the bottom, and let it sit in the tray for a hour or 2 and suck up from the bottom. Soil can get...

    Keeping them warm in winter

    Insulation can help too.

    Keeping them warm in winter

When temps are really cold you can get a horticultural Heat mat, or soil warming cable at most garden centers. They will keep the soil and root zone warm, making the air temp less critical.

Can I take clone cuttings when I put the plant into flowering?

Go for it. It's been my standard operating procedure for quite some time now. I run a perpetual harvest, each cycle I cut my clones from the plant headed into flower. I take all the braches low below the canopy - they wouldn't reach the light, and wouldn't make decent buds anyway.

Perpetual harvest cabinet - 2x 150w hps and cfls - Grapefruit Hash & Pineapple Chunk

I was for a while. I had made up some nice domes, just enough air holes, fit nice on my pots... but I found I haven't needed them. I mist them once right after I'm done with the cloning session, but other than that I haven't had to do anything but keep the cup filled. If I notice any struggling...

    Need a QUIET exhaust fan

Use an bigger fan than you need, and use a speed control to throttle it down. Most fans run near silent at 50% power. Centrifugal blowers are usually even better.

Fan Speed Controller at Home Depot or Lowes??

In my area it's really hit - miss. The Home depot around here only had a 3 position L-M-H for a household, low power ceiling fan. At my local hardware store, they had a commercial duty variable speed control for a decent price.

LED christmas light would it work for a GROW?

I think this idea would work about as well as most LED grows I've seen. I'm not saying it can't be done, It's just really hard to get enough of them.

Should I cut off these fan leaves?

You're 63 Days in. They are 80% dead already. Let the lower part have some light! The buds with thank you! I'm not a hemp farmer or a seed producer. Little of what I do is very "natural"
  13. Pullin' weeds

keeping / leaving fan leaves on during trimming.

People do all sorts of unnatural things to themselves- They exercice excessively, pump themselves full of steroids and growth factors. I'm not saying it's good - they negatively affect other parts of their body etc... It certianly isn't natural. But they are definately bigger and stronger than...
  14. Pullin' weeds

keeping / leaving fan leaves on during trimming.

"...simply to benefit smaller leaves growing out of the bud sites that are further away is not logical." But it's those leaves that we want to maximize!!! Yes, in a perfect place, for the good of the PLANT you would want to leave every single leaf it put there, just as mom nature intended...
  15. Pullin' weeds

Should I cut off these fan leaves?

I start selectively trimming my fan leaves late in flower - only those that are really blocking decent bud sites though. I run a perpetual harvest with a 10 day cycle, so I get lots of opportunity experiment. Nothing formal (yet anyway), but I see that opening up the canopy with selective...

LED christmas light would it work for a GROW?

I'd think if you got enough of 'em it could work. Get a some white, red and blue and mount them into an array.

    limited space

Should be able to - you'll need good ventilation. As long as you can control the heat, you should have just enough space.

Effect of adding hps to plants in flower - +rep

My Bad - I misread. I thought you were asking if you could use a dimmer - like a standard dimmer on your HPS. LOL Yeah, go with tying them down - doesn't cause the stress of topping, and you can REALLY bend them without too much problem.

Effect of adding hps to plants in flower - +rep

Hi - You cannot dim an HPS. You generally want about 18in - kinda depends on your hood or reflector too. Put your hand at the bud tops - if it feels hot it's too close.

    Spider Mites - Help needed!

I'm sure both methods work equally as well - the goal is to flood your space with the vapor. I figured the process I used would cause the most damage to THEM and the least damage to ME. It seems to be one of those borderline hazardous things - the Gov has come close to banning it several times...
