Ok, so one guy says push the air and the other says pull it. How big of carbon filter do I need? How big of a fan would I need to suck air through that carbon filter without burning up the motor?

I would think your 10 gauge cord should be just fine. I run a couple 400w set ups with a 16 gauge cord so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
