How to Secretly Run Ductless A/C at Home?

Yes. I just did this, put a 5 ton split in a basement this past winter. I live in Michigan. I opened up a hole in an old chimney and put 8" elbow in it, and got two reducers, 8-10" & 10-12". And used a 12" fan 1700 cfm. Has worked fine so far. But springs almost here so I got my fingers...

    More lights, higher they go?

1000w hid open wings Makes sense when your footprint is wider. My setup is 2x8 in each room. I could flip the wall and make it 4x4 but all that wiring. Ugh.( Which leads to another question I'll end with) but I use to keep my lights as close as possible. Got bleached buds here n there. Stressed...

    More lights, higher they go?

I'm currently running, well vegging under 16kw. Getting ready to expand to 32 lights (32kw) which will be (2) 16kw rooms on flipbox. Sealed 5 ton AC in Each. Blah blah. Now my question here is.... How do guys get away with having lights so far away in commercial applications? I understand the...

    Big or little carbon filters

Im here today looking for opinions from people who have used various sizes filters. I'm trying to decide if it's more efficient to buy 12" filters from now on. I currently run (8) 6" filters. I usually just date them with a sharpie and buy a few after each run, changing out the oldest ones. They...

    Cutting cords or extentions

Not that much AC yet man. I live in upper Michigan. I could probably go without an AC almost 6 months out of the year if I didn't do sealed rooms. My next and last (FINAL) move will be to a greenhouse. I realize that's the best way to go hands down. I figured I would do one run and then buy...

    Cutting cords or extentions

Also I just bought a 250 foot roll of 6-2. All of my controllers need a ground and 2 positives. Except for my Helios. It has a spot for a neutral. I imagine that's because the timers built in? Either way I'm just going to have to buy some 6-3 for it to be on the safe side. What scares me is...

    Cutting cords or extentions

I'm fairly familiar with electric I've never had to use an electrician. Anyways, I seen this done and it looks like they just cut the cord near the end and wire nut it in two places but I see what you're saying about going straight to the hood.

    Cutting cords or extentions

I'm making the leap to go from 16-32 lights. However using a flipbox. So I want to keep everything where it is. Some hoods won't reach. What do you guys do in a commercial application? Splice and wirenut hoods using 12/2 to lengthen it? Or Buy all these extensions?

    What do you DG's chanrge?

I get what people say about cheap veg light like t5 or cobs but my best results always come from MH. The nodes are not only so much tighter but there's twice as many bud sites. Your minimum allowable price per unit to stay in business is controlled by your yeild weather your working for...

First off let me start by saying I live pretty far up north. I know how many BTU I need depending on the season. with that being said... Im going to be trying this next run as I don't have much of a choice. Any suggestions or input would be helpful as I've never attempted this before and...

    Light controller malfunction/warranty

Hey guys I have a light controller which is a Titan Helios 7. For some reason the for outlets on the right side stopped working. I figure it's a bad relay or a quick fix inside the unit, I was tempted to take it apart as I'm a mechanical engineer and have good knowledge of electricity. anyways...

    Hvac help

I made a what seems to be the mistake of purchasing a carrier 5 ton outdoor so called "split system". It belongs to the performance series, model # 38HDR060521 without doing much research. anyways, I can't seem to find the indoor unit online, everything I see looks more like a central air...

I fixed two of them. both digitals. No major parts needed the wires melted in one in the fan stopped working which caused the receptacle to partially melt. luckily I had a few parts on hand I ordered some dumb stuff off eBay like knobs, the three prong receptacles, fuses, wiring & soder kit...

    Repairing ballast. What resistors needed?

I have 4 ballast want to repair. 3 digital 1000w and 1 magnetic 600w. I know what fuses I need and I have them for the digitals, but where I'm confused is the resistors. I have my bsme in mechanical engineering so I'm very familiar with electrical terminology and wiring diagrams ( resistors...
