    DIY with Quantum Boards

i'm with @ttystikk 37.5w/sq ft is a bit excessive. that's what my second tent is running and they're not really happy if they get within 12" of the lights. it's 300w at 50% efficiency in a 8 sq ft tent.

    Jacks (JR Peters) nutrients

your tap is accumulating limestone in the medium and forcing the pH up, calcium is being locked out as a result. IMO the best options would be adding distilled or rainwater to adjust EC in my experience a tap water ppm of 120-130 is the absolute highest i could go without calcium problems...

    COB cooling advice needed

correct, fans suck IME. i lost 2/6 of the arctics within the first month. i just put a fan up in the top of the tent blowing air down, it cools the sink and provides enough air movement for the plants. gets two birds stoned at once.

i use the exact setup you describe (4xvero 18 and hlg120 1050) in one of my tents, and it stays pretty cool using 30" of this profile- http://www.heatsinkusa.com/5-886-wide-extruded-aluminum-heatsink/

    Jacks (JR Peters) nutrients

i use jack's tomato feED for my ladies. i'm doing a coco soil with added kelp/alfalfa/bone meal and mineral supplementation. i dilute my tap water down to ~100ppm, then add 3 grams per gallon tomato feED and 1/4 tsp per gallon epsom salt. crushing it with COBs, significantly over a gram per...

    COB/315w LEC combo

that's a wireless temperature/humidity gauge, hung from the side of the 315w. i do like the combo better than plain COB, i'm seeing better density running 20w/sq ft in the combo room than the COB only tent at 25w/sq ft. i think the IR actually helps a bit (functions similar to a catalyst in...

    Quantums Overhead in Vertical Grow!

20 oz for a vertical plant is a true 20 oz though- there's zero B grade if the technique is utilized properly, and obviously you're doing it right.

    Quantums Overhead in Vertical Grow!

tty is right, you want to match the breaker to the projected draw main reason is the wire that runs between the panel and receptacle. if you kick the breaker when they're matched, no extra heat because the current required to kick the breaker is within the tolerance of the wire. if you kick...

    1st grow - 420w LED 4x4 in Coco - help!

9 plants in 2g containers, minimal veg, no topping to minimize bushing. my philosophy is to find the best phenotypes ASAP if i can't find clones, so i usually sprout all the seeds at once.

    COB/315w LEC combo

the business got crazy for a while, but i'm back :bigjoint: still zero maintenance on the COBs, still the original bulb in the 315w fixture, love it! made the switch to jack's tomato feED, and it's great. i dilute my tap down to 100 ppm with distilled, add a tsp of epsom salts and a tbsp of...
