when and how much do i water in the beginning stages???

Fill your pot with dry soil (or if your plants are grown, wait for the soil to dry out). Take the pot with the dry soil and put it on the lightest scale you can (if you're using a Styrofoam cup use a gram scale, if it's an actual pot use a human scale). Then, water that pot, and when it looks...

    Fluoro tubes vs. CFL box

The reason I want to transfer to the 40w fluoro tube room is because it's a lot easier to handle plants and it is cooler than a small box.

    Fluoro tubes vs. CFL box

I've got (4) 40w 4 foot fluoros in a 3x5 grow room lined with mylar. But, I also have a rubbermaid growbox setup with (6) 26w 6500k and (2) 42w 2700k. The growbox is a mere 3x1.5x2 and it is lined with mylar, so it contains more concentrated light (According to my light meter) Which should I...

Just did a soil test/seedling nute

[Cliffs at bottom] My soil is a healthy PH 6.5, but shows VERY LOW for n, p, and k. My question is.. I know everyone here says you shouldn't fertilize seedlings (seedlings being plants focusing on root growth rather than obvious foliage growth) because they have enough npk to support themselves...

How do I lower soil ph?

I've got GH ph tester drops and GH ph down... I haven't tested the run off yet. Just did an actual soil test (ph, n, p, k) and ph is 6.5 :)

CFLs put off more heat per watt than HPS

Yes but the HPS has a lot more surface area for heat to dissipate off of and into the air. Not to mention the ballast burns a little hotter.

testing PH in Soil using probe?

I'm not sure what kind you have.. most probe PH meters can simply be stuck deep into the soil to measure the ph

Are my plants ready for harvest? PICS

you'll need to get a closer look. luckily, i had an old microscope lying around, but you can get a 10-30 microscope with a light at RadioShack.. it's kind of a pain, but it'll do you right. I picked one up a couple month's back when I was in the states. they're like 10 or 20 USD

[HELP] I cut off a healthygrowth when fimming!

well, unfortunately, I am not a good grower and I'm not patient, in a fit of rage I ripped my plant out of the pots. I've decided to hang up my guns, so to speak. I give up, spent too much money and I honestly just don't have the time or the right equipment. To the rest of you, happy growing!

[HELP] I cut off a healthygrowth when fimming!

I just fimmed between the 2nd and 3rd node, and the little growth (the small stems coming out of the 2nd node forming the new smaller leaves) I cut off one side.. Is my plant going to die? Is this going to affect my FIM? Will this lower my yield? Also, the clone is already very wilted, what is...

    FIM a mother?

Awesome advice, but I plan on fimming with Uncle Ben's technique (pinch between 2nd and 3rd node. Your advice cleared up a lot though, thank you :) My question is, because this is such a large cutting, or that it has a large amount of foliage/nodes... how do I prepare it? Cut it at a 45 angle...
