Well the 400w Lumatek Digital says that it's switchable. It has a white button on it. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to click that to switch it to MH, or if it does it automatically. So I can use a regular MH bulb then, correct?

I have a 400w Lumatek dig. ballast. My question is, can I use a regular MH bulb since it switches to MH automatically? Or do I HAAAAAAVE to pay all that extra $$ for a conversion bulb? I'm asking because I'm going to change to 600w HPS for flower, and I wanted to use my 400w Lumatek for veg...

I thought you could run a 430w bulb on a 400w ballast, but not a 400w bulb on a 430w ballast? That way you less voltage running to a bigger bulb. Just wouldn't get all your lumens. I suppose I could be wrong though! Good luck! Peace.

I was mostly looking at the T5's due to the higher lumens and the sleeker design. I have a cheap 2 bulb 4' shoplight that is 11" wide. That can't produce near as much as a 4 bulb 4' T5 that's 10" wide. I don't have a bunch of money to blow! If I did I would have bought a bunch of 8 bulb units...

I was going to use the 6 bulb, and a 4 bulb Pioneer VIII for a 36" lighting canopy for veg. I guess that's not necessary? I just figured T5 HO were a lot better than my lame T12 shoplights.

Yo, while I have no experience with the cheap bulb, I'll give my input. I paid $75 for my HiLux 400w HPS @ 56,000 lumens. 6,000 more lumens for almost $60 more. If you don't desire to spend the extra money but want the 400w, I would say go for it. If it doesn't work as well, at least you'll get...
