I'm currently using 4 42w, 8 26w, and 1 mystery bulb. 6 are positioned over the 3 plants and the other 7 are hanging around the sides of the plants. I didn't bother buying different spectrums for vegging and flowering. All the bulbs are 2700-2800K and they vegged just fine. They're on day 8 or...

Yes, the Y-adapters I have just screw into any light fixture. I'll take some closer pics so you can see the setup better (although it's definitely not the BEST setup, but it works for me). Back in a few . . . :peace:

Haven't tried it yet, but from what I've read it's supposed to give you bigger buds. Try to get Backstrap molasses, but if you can't find that, at least make sure you get molasses that is unsulphered. :peace:

Very true, the noise level on a lot of fans (especially the cheaper ones) can be a little extreme. If you use a bathroom fan for exhaust and you want it to be relatively quiet, make sure it has a low sone rating.

I hear the fan speed change as I open the door. In fact, the further the door is open, the more you can hear the change in the speed of the fan. So hopefully, that's normal :confused:

Thanks timmmy. I got the Y adapters at a place called Fleet Farm, but you may not have one of these stores near you. If you can't find them at Home Depot or Lowes, try an electrical or lighting supply store. The exhaust fan I'm using is from a microwave. It's pretty much the same as a bathroom...

You mean you cut 1/4 inch off the bottom of the lighter so the white cap on the bottom would fit tight?

I'm on the second grow with seeds from a friend's bag of really good skunky stuff. He only had about a dozen seeds, but all the ones he gave me have turned out to be females. I'm not an expert on genetics and I was wondering this: If a plant grown from a feminized seed gets pollinated, will...

Probably only a few days away. That looks pretty nice, especially for having been grown under just one light. How tall is it?

I change the water container about twice a week and often there are one or two little dead gnats floating on top. It's never caused me any problems before. Good Luck. :weed:

If you have swarms of them, you'll most likely want to do something about it. You probably already have some sort of fan blowing air across the plant(s), but if you don't, it will help also. :weed:

I don't know if it's normal, or what, but I can hear my exhaust fan RPM's drop whenever I open the door. Then again, I don't have an intake fan, just the exhaust fan in one hole (no filter or anything), and another hole at the bottom for intake. An intake fan would surely bring in fresh air...

Is that a computer fan attached to the filter? Just wondering, cause if you're already fighting temps with 2 cfls going, you may need a fan with a higher cfm rating, even if you drop down to 1 carbon layer (assumming you're going to be adding more light). :leaf:
