    Using a portable aircon as a dehumidifier

    yes it will lower the humidity I have tried this before, regarding the heat, if the portable unit comes with a duct make sure to vent it outside. Best to get a good hygrometer and test various fan speeds and temperature and record the humidity and temperature levels. good luck
