how should i be testing the ph? I was testing the runoff. the runoff is 5.3 What should the ph of the mix be before watering?

i am growing in dirt using sunshine advanced mix 2 and the flora series nutrients, my ph runoff is at 5.2 however the ph of the water going in is 6.8. Should i be setting the ph to around 8.3 or so trying to acomplish a runoff ph of 6.5? Also how often should i be watering?

Could the neoprene insert used on cloners be the cause for clones getting soggy? it only appears to happen on smaller clones, I think the insert is squishing them, like pinching them off.

would a little co2 help clones?

The soggy part is inside the cloner, on the bottom side of the neoprene plug, it just turns to mush.

Not following stink buds thread, The timer is for running the water pump for my ezcloner.

If you have one, what make and model is it? I read that when cloning if you run your timer 1 minute on and 5 minutes off it will allow the plant more oxygen. Anyone care to weigh in on this?
