def needs to be sterile, like the others said use bleach or pool shock, or even more simple just use some city tap water. the chlorine in it will keep everything nice and sterile

u can wire in a resistor with the pot instead. will do the same thing but u will have full range for dimming

if u can connect two wires u can build a cob panel, there are plenty of tutorials online growmau and greengenes have some good ones
